The design team at Van Technologies knows that a sealer must coat wood well, penetrate and
seal the variety of pore structures in wood, and permit smooth, uniform coverage and good
adhesion of subsequently applied topcoats.

VanAqua-240 Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanAqua-240 water based wood sealer is an ultra low
V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. It
minimizes grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries
fast at normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). The
sandability of the VanAqua-240 is excellent. It dusts up well and does not gum up in the
sandpaper. It also performs remarkably well
with a wide variety of topcoats including water based, radiation cured, and high solid
coatings! It is recommended that it be applied
by spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate.
VanAqua-241 Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanAqua-241 water based wood sealer is an ultra low
V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. It
is the same sealer as the VanAqua-240 except formulation adjustments were
made to raise the solid content and reduce the viscosity. This allows for higher
build and ease of application on large, horizontal surfaces such as flooring.
Similar to the VanAqua-240, the VanAqua-241 minimizes
grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries fast at
normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It also performs
remarkable well with a wide variety of topcoats including solvent based, water based,
radiation cured, and high solid coatings! It is recommended that it be applied by
spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate.
VanAqua-244BLK Water Based Black Wood Sealer/Primer
The VanAqua-244BLK water based wood sealer/primer is an
ultra low V.O.C and zero H.A.P composition that minimizes grain raise effect typically
seen with other water based coatings! It dries fast at normal room temperatures and
humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It also performs remarkable well with a wide
variety of topcoats including solvent based, water based, radiation cured, and high solid
coatings! It is recommended that it be applied by spray, brush, or roller coating
methods although other methods may be appropriate.
VanAqua-245 Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanAqua-240 water based wood sealer is an ultra low V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. It minimizes grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries fast at normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It has been designed to be used with the VanAqua-485 aliphatic urethane topcoat series. It is recommended that it be applied by spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate. The sandability of the VanAqua-240 is excellent.
VanAqua-440 Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanAqua-440 water based wood sealer is an ultra low V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. It minimizes grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries fast at normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It dusts up well and does not gum up in the sandpaper. It provides a clear, amber tone appearance and provides an ideal surface for the application of the VanAqua-480 urethane topcoat. It is recommended that it be applied by spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate.
VanAqua-442 Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanAqua-442 water based wood sealer is an ultra low V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. This is similar to the VanAqua-440 sealer, except the viscosity has been modified to have improved sag resistance for application to vertical surfaces. The VanAqua-442 minimizes grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries fast at normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It dusts up well and does not gum up in the sandpaper. It provides a clear, amber tone appearance and provides an ideal surface for the application of the VanAqua-482 urethane topcoat. It is recommended that it be applied by spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate.
VanEx-640 Exterior Clear Water Based Wood Sealer
The VanEx-640 water based wood sealer is an ultra low V.O.C and zero H.A.P sealer intended for all interior wood surface applications. It minimizes grain raise effect typically seen with other water based sealers! It dries fast at normal room temperatures and humidity (within 15 to 30 minutes). It also performs remarkable well with a wide variety of topcoats including solvent based, water based, radiation cured, and high solid coatings! It is recommended that it be applied by spray, brush, or roller coating methods although other methods may be appropriate. The chemistry of the VanEx-640 water based wood sealer is based on exterior grade acrylic polymers and the use of UV absorbers to ensure color fastness. VanEx-640 also contains a fungicide/mildewcide to protect and preserve the quality of the wood being sealed. The VanEx-640 has been found to be compatible with most all quality topcoat applications. As a system with appropriate topcoats, the lasting beauty of wood structures is maintained. For optimum results use with VanEx-680 topcoat.
